Arif Hanungtyas is a local artist who graduated from bachelor degree of fine arts at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta in 2013. He has participated in some solo exhibitions and group exhibitions start from 2013 until present. This October, Hanung will present his solo show at our Artspace with the title is “RESURGENCE“.
Therefore, his works that he has made since 2013, usually come from his memory of the things that seen and felt for the forms or moments. He wants to show how he could remember the all memories and things that he just faced or passed. In his opinion, everyone must have memories or moments that should keep and remember as their reflection on their life.
The solo exhibition of RESURGENCE, Hanung made some paintings such an abstract scratch and texture. This works implemented to his recollection of his remarkable moment in his life then expression on the brush and color of its. We don’t have to understand what’s the object because Hanung need everyone has their own interpretation about his works. Because he made a very in depth and personal paintings from a few years ago. Hanung realize that every work he produced was one of his media for learning and he didn’t want to know when his learning was finished.
