As one of the young guns, Uji “Hahan” Handoko works was considered quite bohemian yet amazing at the same for being able to convey a new perspective in the contemporary art scene. His artwork is based on observations and critique regarding to sociopolitical situation. Hahan’s magnificent work can be seen as soon as you enter the lobby of ARTOTEL Yogyakarta. His vibrant colors and quirky imaginary characters are among the signature of his work. Hahan depicts the legend of Mount Tidar as the Nail of Java that has prevents Java islands from neither shaking nor sinking.
